Fuma is a Clan in Nioh.
Clan Analysis
The Fuma clan were a group of ninja who served under the Hojo clan. At the height of their power, the Hojo clan controlled all of Eastern Japan. Famous clan leaders include Soun and Ujiyasu.
Hojo Soun, the clan's founder, used Odawara Castle in Sagami province (today's western Kanagawa prefecture) as a base of operations, and then proceeded to grow the clan. For decades after Soun began his leadership, the Fuma clan worked behind the scenes to support his group, even fighting the Iga and Koga schools. The name Kazuma Kotaro is strongly associated with the group; however, the name did not refer to a single member. Rather, it referred to the clan leader and was passed down from generation to generation.
The family crest, "Hojo-uroko", means the "Hojo Scales", and was taken directly from the earlier, unrelated Hojo clan who served as hereditary regents during the Kamakura period. The scales are said to represent those of a giant serpent encountered by the first Hojo regent, Tokimasa.
