Hotarumaru is a Weapon in Nioh.
Hotarumaru Description
"An odachi forged by the famed swordsmith Kunitoshi of the Rai style in Yamashiro province (present-day Kyoto prefecture). This sword was worn by Aso Korezumi, a general of Higo province (present-day Kumamoto prefecture). Although the odds were stacked against him, Korezumi fought valiantly against Ashikaga Takauji at Tatarahama, but countless nicks in his blade forced him to retreat. It is said that upon returning home and resting the sword against the wall before falling into a deep slumber, Korezumi dreamt of fireflies, oh "hotaru", gathering around the blade. After waking, he discovered the blade restored to its former glory. It was eventually enshrined as a treasure in Aso Shrine."
