Jakirimaru Description

"An odachi forged by the famed swordsmith Takahira of the Kobizen style in Bizen province (present-day southeastern Okayama prefecture). It was wielded by Hatakeyama Shigetada, considered to be the ideal bando musha soldier, during his efforts to defeat the Heike clan. At the Battle of Fujikawa, it is said that he used the blade to split the helmet of Kaji Tsuguie clean in two. Shigetada had a particular fondness for the Takahira's blades, and as such, had come into possession of many of his famous swords, including Nanatsu Shokudai and Choryu. This odachi is lightly curved and is capable of both thrusting and slicing, with its weight lending great power to each strike."
