Nakatsu is a city on the northern border of Ōita Prefecture in Kyushu, Japan. The city is on the border with Fukuoka Prefecture. The town is centered on Nakatsu Castle, a place of importance during the Sengoku Jidai. Nakatsu has a long history with Dutch sailors. At this time, Nakatsu may have been Ōe, Toyoda, or several other towns.
