The Source of Evil is a Mission in Nioh.
The Gasha-Dokuro is a yokai born from the bitter grudges of countless fallen soldiers. Left unchecked, it is only a matter of time until it consumes the entire world. Sir Anjin, you must defeat it before all of humanity is wiped out. I and Master Hanzo will assist you as best we can.

The Source of Evil Walkthrough

This mission begins with a cutscene that shows the unveiling of Gasha-Dokuro. When the mission begins, find a Shrine to your immediate right. There will be a Skeleton Warrior force in this area. Take them out and head left to find Tenkai by a structure. Speak to him and he will give you Soul-Soothing Comb.
Head up the ramp and drop down ahead. This area will contain several red circular shadown realm areas that spawn challenging foes similar to Revenants whenever you approach them. Keep that in mind as you progress. There are a few different ways you can progress in this area. If you drop down into the ravine here and head left towards the ramp, dealing with the Lesser Umi-Bozu along the way. You can loot a corpse up this ramp for ??. Head straight to find a corpse just through the opening in the wall and then hang a right and then head left towards the larger structures, taking out any enemies along the way. Head to the structure on the right and head right across the field towards the boss area.
You will find a series of red crystal clusters ringing the area. Interact with the first to drive a spike into it to neutralize it. Head left from this cluster and across the battlefield towards the structure ahead. There are a ton of yokai here so consider just sprinting past them. Head right of the house and to your right you will see a small tower with a fallen log nearby. Head up the log and onto the path and find the Shrine to your right.
Head back the way you came and head straight for the boss pit. When ready, drop in to begin the fight.
Boss Fight: Gasha-dokuro
Defeat it to trigger a cutscene with Tenkai being particularly badass. Proceed to complete the mission. A series of story scenes will play out and your story will continue in A Defiled Holy Mountain.

AnonymousPersonally, I enjoyed the boss fight at the end here. Every souls type game has a boss like this and with this one being late in the game I was wondering when It would show up. The area itself felt like you were in a yokai war, it was awesome; with so many aggressive enemies everywhere that you really should just run for it. If you don't destroy the crystals you probably would have a bad experience.

The worst boss in the game, nearly ruined it all for me with one badly done with was.
One of the worst walkthroughs..more like a run through. Usually community sites are better developed. But this Nioh wiki is pretty bare bones. Yes, I do know that community members must participate to create the wiki pages.
