"Gauntlets that protect from the elbow to the hand, made by joining together two iron plates into a curved shape and fixing them with cord. This Tosei—gusoku armour was worn by Kobayakawa Hideaki. "Kingo" became his pseudonym when he achieved the official rank of "Saemon no Kami." He was the nephew—in—law and for a brief time the adopted son of Toyotomi Hideyoshi, before he became a member of the Kobayakawa family. A somewhat tragic figure, at one time he possessed great power from being a relative of Hideyoshi's; however, he was pushed aside when Hideyori was born into the Toyotomi family. "
