Monohoshizao is a Weapon in Nioh.

Monohoshizao Description

"An odachi forged by the famed swordsmith Nagamitsu of the Osafune style in Bizen province (present—day southeastern Okayama prefecture). It is said to be the favoured sword of Sasaki Kojiro, who also went by the name Ganryu, the style of which he was a master. It differed from other swords of the period, which were uchigatana sporting usually shorter blades; this sword was an odachi with a length of "sanshaku," or three "shaku " (with one shaku being approximately one foot in length). Its length caused it to be viewed as unwieldy and thus useless in actual combat, earning it the name of "Monohoshizao," or "drying pole." Contrary to the image conjured from the derogatory name, however, Kojiro was extremely adept with the blade, and those who faced him in battle quickly learned of his terrifying swordsmanship."
