Sekishu Kazusada Description

"An odachi forged by Kazusada in Iwami province (present—day western Shimane prefecture). "Sekishu," as Iwami was more commonly known, was a hotbed for ironworking and many master smiths and metal casters set up business there. This sword boasts an enormous 67-inch blade, and is believed to have been worn by the exceptionally talented Yamanaka Shikanosuke from his first battle onwards. Shikanosuke is said to have personally given this sword as an offering to Oyamazumi Shrine in lyo-omishima (Imabari in present-day Ehime prefecture), where people travelled to worship the gods of the mountains, seas, and of war. "
