Spider Nest Castle Walkthrough

 

When the mission starts you'll find a Shrine in this immediate area. Progress ahead to take out the enemy to the right. Another will emerge ahead to the left. Defeat them and enter the house on the right. Loot the small chest here for Sacred Ash x1 and Salt x1. Exit the house and head right to see the evidence of a spider web. Kill the spider to its right and loot the corpse for a Greatspear.

Continue ahead left of the spider web you can find a corpse in this area with Stone x1. You will see a web covered ramp up that you can take but beware of the spider at the top that will attack you. Keep your distance from its ranged web attack and then dash in to kill it when it's finished. At the top, head right on the roof. To the right you can drop down to land a jump attack on a spider.

There is a tower you can climb in this area to loot a corspe for Rifle Ammunition. Another tower has an archer you can climb and defeat. To the rear of this tower you can find a Kodama. In the house nearby you will find a spider and some egg cases. Get rid of them and loot the corpse in the corner for Kayaku-Dama x1. Exit the house and head to the center of the area. There is another web ramp near hear with a spider, that you can take to another roof to find a corpse with Greatspear. 

On the ground you will see a wall ahead with a yokai mist as well as glowing. If you sniper it it will reveal a large spider yokai. This is a tougher fight, but its glowing abdomen is vulnerable. Avoid its slashes and beware of its leap attacks and web spitting. Get to its rear and land your attacks when the opening presents itself. Killing these larger lurking wall spiders will get you a Hiragumo Fragment which are remnants of a teakettle you will be assembling to earn a Trophy.

Once its defeated, approach the doors that the yokai had attached to and open them. Cross the bridge and find the Shrine on the right. The double doors near it cannot be opened from this side. If you head left of the doors you will find a corpse at the end of a path with Horoku-Dama x2 and a spider who will hatch and attack. From the corpse, head right to meet a spider baby attack. Defeat them and loot the corpse here for Water Amulet x2.

Just ahead through the doorway is a spider. Be careful of progressing too far as a boulder will come rolling down the hill. If you have any ranged attacks, try sniping the archer up ahead. Up the hill will be a large yokai with a deadly tongue attack. Watch for its forward rush and tongue attacks, and get to its side and rear to land attacks to defeat it. 

Continue up the hill and keep right to find a corpse with Hamaya Arrow x3. Go through the doorway and kill the enemy ahead and deal with the archer in the tower behind you. There is a corpse draped over with Kayaku-dama x1. In this house here you will find an Oni. Defeat it and loot the corpse in the house for Signpost Talisman x1 and Rifle Captain's Armor Kote. Around the corner of the right side of the house you can destroy boxes to reveal a Kodama. There is a path to the left of the house you can follow up to a set of double doors but they will be locked for now.

Head back to the area with the house and slide down the webbing to the roof below. Loot the corpse on this roof for Longbow and Arrow x1. Note the Kodama on the lower front portion of the roof awning and be sure to come back for the little guy after youve finished looting the house and cleared the area. Youll need to open the shortcut doors mentioned in the next paragraph to do this. You can drop into the house to find a spider nest. Clear the room and loot the corpse for Spirit Stone x1. Exit the house and head right along the wall to come to a double door.

Open the door to unlock a shortcut to the earlier part of the mission. Make your way back to the center of the zone and enter the pool to find a corpse with Hooked Kusarigama. There is another door with a spider. You can snipe it as before. Kill it and open the door it was lurking on. Before you enter the door you can head left of it and head down to the water to find an enemy and reveal a tongue yokai. Defeat it and head right to find a corpse along the rocks Spirit Stone x1 and you can keep going along this path to find a home with spiders and a small chest with Spirit Stone x1 and Sacred Water x1. 

Exit the house and head right and take the path down and around. Beware a spider will drop down and try to land on you. Defeat it and as you progress keep looking at the ceiling to snipe the spiders that are waiting to ambush drop you. Keep descending until you get to a room with a corpse with Master Ninja's Locks x1 and a chest. Make your way back the way you came, staying to the left until you return to where you unlocked the door from killing the spider. 

From the doors you unlocked step through and head into the house and stay left. Enter the room to the left and reveal the yokai. Defeat it and loot the small chest for Taima Kuniyuki. Along the wall will be a spider you can take out and progress. Staying to the right you can find a Kodama along the wall.

Enter the house nearby and loot the chest. Exit the house and head right and take the path along and go around the corner left and enter the house through the opening on the left. Head straight in to find a yokai behind a nook. Defeat it and loot the corpse for Salt x2.

Make your way through the house and you'll come to a room with screens. You can destroy the wall here and enter the room. A spider will attack you. Defeat it and reveal the yokai. This one is particularly tough and has dual wielded blades and can do some impressive flipping. Defeat it and loot the corpse for the Key to the Castle Gates. 

Exit the room to the right and take out the enemeis who spawn. You can loot a corpse in here for Poison Omamori Charm. Open the door out and head left to find a corpse with Arrow x3. Head back and to the right to come to a barred door. Open it to unlock another shortcut.

Make your way back to the Shrine and up the path where the boulder rolls down hill. Head up the path and through the doorway at the top and head left to return to the path up that you visited earlier to a locked door. This door can now be opened with the Key to Castle Gates. Open it and step through to find a Shrine.

Head right down a narrow path and follow it around to come to a ladder. Take it down and head up and to the right you will find an enemy in this pass. Keep heading along to find a spider on the right. Ahead you will find a double door you can unlock. To the left you will find a bunch of spiders ahead and to the left. A large spider will be lurking on the stone pillar. Take the out and around the corner to the left you will find a corpse behind a crate with Arrow x2.

Head back to the Shrine and now head to its far left to find a corpse at the end of the path with Master Samurai's Locks x1. Back at the Shrine take the path to its left that slopes up and at the top find a small chest on the left with Water Amulet x2, Spirit Stone x1.

Be careful before going up the ramp too far as a wheel yokai will come down leaving a trail of fire. Dodge it and take it out while it's stunned against the wall. Defeat it and go up the path to find an archer firing arrows at you from the left. Head up the steps and take it out. Before entering the structure, if you make your way around to the left you will find several small spiders and one of the larger wall hanging ones. There are also a bunch of egg spiders you can destroy. In the corner to the right of the wall the large spider has lurking you can find a Kodama. There is a corpse here you can also loot for ??.

Enter the structure and the double doors ahead will be locked. You will see a corpse to the right but look above before you loot it to find a spider. Snipe it down and dispatch it and then loot the corpse for Sacred Ash x1. Proceed ahead to take the staircase up, taking out the spider at the top. An enemy will also stand up here and attack you and to your left more spiders from eggs will emerge from the room. Proceed through the room and take the next staircase up and open the double doors to trigger the Boss fight.

 

Boss Fight: Joro-Gumo

Defeat Joro-Gumo to trigger a cutscene and proceed to gain access to the Hidden Teahouse and the Itokuri Guardian Spirit. Your Main Missions continue in Falling Snow.
