General Overview

There are 5 slots that players can allocate armor to: Head Armor, Torso Armor, Arm Guards, Leg Guards and Foot Guards. Each piece of equipment has a level, weight, durability and multiplier assigned to it, apart from additional status effects that the equipment can apply. Armor is color coded by their rarity: Common, Uncommon, RareExotic, Divine and Ethereal. The rarer the item, the more beneficial status effects it will possess.

In order to make use of the special attributes of a piece of armor, you need to reach certain stat requirement (like 8 in Body - and 8 in Skill)
Equiping a piece of armor without having reached these stat requirements, also results in a reduction in the Defense value of the armor piece.

Heavier armor adds higher values of Toughness, which determines your resistance to guard breaks, and the amount of Ki damage you take.

Armor Sets

Armor Sets are complete combinations of individual Armor in NiohArmor Sets provides players with protection and resistances against all types of damage such as Earth, Fire, Poison, Water, Paralysis, Wind and Yokai Realm. Wearing Armor also changes the character's appearance. Wearing all Set pieces sometimes grants additional effects.

Tips 1: defence for armor and attack for weapons no depend on rarity (color).
        Tips2:
        base defence for body armor = base_value + 2 * (level - 1)
        base defence for other armor = base_value + (level - 1)
        base attack for weapon = base_value + 3.5 * (level - 1) (round down)

So, I have a question: where do you take these screenshots of armor? It looks like inventory but I have some mist effect slightly covering legs in mine.

Well there is a glitch with refashion right now. Even though I have gotten the veterans armor:hizayoroi many time I can not refashion anything to look like it. I tried moving it to the store house, selling, dismantle, betting a mission wearing it, beating a mission with it in my inventory, offering it at the shrine, none of it works. Some people are having this issue with other sets, some people can pack the top for a set and not the bottom but others are in the reversed situation. Anyways you can farm it from the demon king revealed. After you open the first door fight all the dudes, run down the platform open the next door you should see a fiend and a spear guy, kill them then go to the back left you

Veteran s armor can be farmed from the twilight mission bearer of I'll tidings. There is a revenant name something butcher in the start where the blue fiend, pink fiend and Raven are. He drops one piece each time you fight him, just use a himorogi branch to restart the mission and keep fighting him to you get all the pieces

So, is there a way to forge sets like yamabushi, frontline, strategist, chunin, bowman or all you can do is just grind over and over the last mission on Ng+ oping for a miracle drop from a random enemy?

Were can I find the smithing text for chunin set and strategist set? Or at least, where can I farm them divine?

Are you guys planning on putting in a "Possible Special Effects" Table for individual Armor pieces at at?

                    • I'll do some more work tomorrow, just wanted to get the tables and pictures done today, will do some formatting tomorrow. Will add links for bigger pictures and will start working on the individual pages. The problem with the individual pages is that you can roll anything on everything, so it's impossible to give any stats are all of them are random all the time. The only value that is static is weight and damage reduction. Will add that info to the individual pages but other than that there isn't much you can do with it. Maybe locations where you can farm smithing texts for some of those but rest is again random drops. Will have to sit and think what to do with it.

First time doing this so it's kinda learning process for me lol

you guys think i should add links to the full size images when you press on picture? Names will take to the individual pages.

Armor sets have been updated. I'll add Master Swordsman's Armor later today and will start working on the individual pages for armor sets.

                          • I am currently updating this page all on my own. I am not officially a partner of the site just an impatient player. I just beat the game and almost have all the sets it shouldn't take long for me to at least have all the images and pages with some info.

What about having it in a 3 table format showing Light, Medium, and Heavy Armors in their own table. The table can show rarity, location, armor type, and armor stats. For ones that have bonuses the bonuses could be reflected.

Green is Divine (NG+, Way of the Strong). You should probably just have a "rarity" page that you can link to instead of having to change all the different items pages.

Best way is to avoid damage. I recommend light armor for agility. And since you can Change the look of your armor your fashion souls will be satisfied :)

Heavy, Medium, Light is who the armor is represented in the game so it should be represented like that here
