Asakura is a Clan in Nioh.
Clan Analysis
The Asakura clan were based in Echizen (present-day Fukui prefecture), led most famously by Asakura Yoshikage.
Together with his trusted advisor, Asakura Soteki, Yoshikage established Ichijodani Castle as a key location in the Hokurikudo region and brought prosperity to the clan. When Oda Nobunaga rose to power, Yoshikage joined forces with the Azai clan of Omi (Shiga prefecture) to oppose him. Magara Naotaka wielded a massive odachi and fought bravely alongside his men at the Battle of Anegawa (Nagahama City in Shiga Prefecture), but to no avail. The clan eventually met their demise at the hand of Oda's forces.
The family crest, "Mitsumori-mokko", features three "mokko" (Japanese quince) blossoms, which were a symbol of fertility and the desire to bring prosperity to one's descendants. The Oda family crest also featured a mokko and was known as the "Oda Mokko".
