Mogami is a Clan in Nioh.
Clan Analysis
The Mogami clan were a well-known family that descended from the Seiwa Genji and were a branch of the Ashikaga clan. Their power and influence were centred in Dewa province (present-day Yamagata and Akita prefectures), and their best-known leader was Mogami Yoshiaki, who was Date Masamune's uncle.
Based out of Yamagata Castle, Yoshiaki subdued his opponents by using a number of tactics, including strategic marriages. He went on to rule over the enormous Dewa region and fought against Date Masamune for control of the Ou territory. Like the Date clan, the Mogami also surrendered to Toyotomi Hideyoshi following the Siege of Odawara. Hideyoshi ordered Yoshiaki's daughter be executed on account of her association with Toyotomi Hidetsugu, whom she was engaged to. This caused the Mogami clan to turn to Tokugawa Ieyasu for help.
The family crest, "Maruni-futatsubikiryo", features a double-stroke crest within a circle. It is similar in design to the crest of the Ashikaga Shogunate, and is said to depict two holy dragons.
