Yuki-onna and Oda Nobunaga are both Bosses in Nioh.

Yuki-Onna is an incarnation of Nohime, Oda Nobunaga's wife. Known in history as a woman of smarts only matched by her beauty, she had no children and is said to have been barren. It is unknown whether she perished at Honnoji temple when Nobunaga died, and a prevalent story is that the woman found at the temple with Nobunaga's remains was just a prostitute.

Location

  • Yuki-onna and Oda Nobunaga are found and fought simultaneously in the sub mission "A Meeting on the Other Shore" within the Omi Region.

Strategy 1 (Melee)

As with the Tachibana and Honda fight you are going to want to take down the more aggressive of the two, and in this case that would be Nobunaga. Keep moving left or right and stay as far from
Yuki-onna as you can. Dodge Nobunaga's attacks and hit him a few times and then dodge away. Try to time your attacks between Yuki-onna's projectiles so as to avoid being struck if possible.

Strategy 2 (Magic)

No Magic guide yet.

Strategy 3 (Ranged/Melee)

Nobunaga has human/revenant properties, meaning he can be parried, can be critically hit when out of ki, etc. But most importantly (to this strategy), he will crumple if hit in the head with an arrow/bullet. If your damage with final blows is high enough, then this strategy may help. A bow would be preferable here for its ability to be drawn faster than the rifle or hand cannon.

When the mission starts, while both bosses are standing still and waiting, move left (but not forward towards the two bosses) until you are lined up with Nobunaga, and draw your bow. Fire at Nobunaga's head, which he will crumple from. Immediately lock onto him, run to his downed body, wait for the lock-on marker to turn red, and do a final blow. Keep in mind that he takes a few seconds to fully crumple to the ground and become open to a final blow, so remember to watch and wait for the lock-on marker to turn red. Because of Yuki-onna's presence, this start may not always run smoothly. When you run over to Nobunaga's downed body, she may throw her weapon at you or run at you and strike to protect him. However, she may also sometimes walk rather slowly towards you instead, which leaves you free to perform a final blow on Nobunaga. If you get the former situation where she attacks, try to stuff in as much damage on Nobunaga as you can while he's downed before dodging/running away from her. If you can't, then just simply dodge/run from her attacks and let Nobunaga get up.

Run as far as you can from both Nobunaga and Yuki-onna, hopefully to the point where only Nobunaga is attempting to chase you down while Yuki-onna only does ranged attacks or slowly walks towards you. If she starts running at you, then either keep running until she stops, or try to be quick with the rest of this strategy. At all times, remember to occasionally watch Yuki-onna for any ranged attacks she might try and dodge/run from them. Getting far away from Nobunaga is easy to do if done while he is changing elements with his guardian spirit.

Once you get a good distance from him, draw your bow. If far away enough, then Nobunaga will usually perform his dash skill to get closer, which leaves him still for a short second after performing it. If you're across the room from him, it will require him to dash at you two to three times. While he's dashing at you, with your bow drawn, aim and fire at his head. He will crumple to the ground, opening him up for a final blow and another attack while he's getting back up. This is easiest to do and best done the closer he is to you: his head would be easier to aim at. and hitting him from far away may force you to run to him and potentially put you closer to Yuki-onna. If he gets too close and you can't aim at his head properly, then run away to try again.

Repeat this until Nobunaga is defeated, and then fight Yuki-onna as you normally would when she is solo. Sloth talismans will help quite a bit, as her more devastating attacks become easier to see coming and dodge.

In summary:

  1. Shoot Nobunaga in the head at the start. Final blow.
  2. Run far away from both bosses. When Nobunaga is dashing, start shooting at his head. Final blow if you hit and he crumples; run if he gets too close.
  3. Repeat until he is defeated. Finish off Yuki-onna while she's solo.

Tips

Carrying multiple elemental talismans can help in this fight, as Nobunaga appears to be weak to the opposite element he's currently buffed his sword with. So if he has the Water buff, he'll be weak against Fire. However, when his sword is buffed, he has extremely high poise; three heavy attacks from a mid-stance'd Axe doesn't even phase him. He can be stagger-locked like most humanoids when his sword is unbuffed, and he can be crumpled by projectile headshots at any time; I recommend doing this when he's trying to buff his weapon.

Nobunaga is best attacked after one of his "Dispel Attacks", as I like to call them, which are unique elemental moves that remove his sword's buff when used. In his Water form, he'll it's a 5-shot version of his wife's icicle shot. For Fire it's a teleporting jump-stab that tracks your location, deals a ton of damage if it hits directly, but deals very minor damage on AOE. For Wind, it's an attack that sends two pretty weak Wind projectiles in 3 different directions. For Earth, it's an ability that sets 5 "Traps" in the form of purple circles on the ground. Walking into one triggers it, causing an explosion, but they can be blocked, and will expire eventually. Lastly, his Lightning Dispel Attack is a series of tracking lightning-strikes, much like Nue's ability, but with 6-7 strikes instead of 4, and less aggressive tracking (it can't retrace it's path to hit you).

As for Yuki-Onna, she'll usually throw her naginata at you or shoot her triple-icicles at you while Nobunaga is applying one of his buffs. Later in the fight, she also uses her icicle salvo and ice-patch-projectile attacks. Attacking him when he's unbuffed, approaching him when he's down/out of Ki, or hitting him more than twice when he's buffed will trigger her aggressive response. When this happens, she'll constantly run towards you, and when she reaches you, she'll either melee attack twice, or use her ice breath. Later on in the fight, she'll use her ice stomp and her ring of ice-patch-projectiles. For the first two, dodge left and then towards Nobunaga to hit him. For the other two, dodge backwards to avoid danger; it becomes very hard to land any solid combos on him late in the fight.

Once Nobunaga is defeated, fighting her is the same as fighting her before, except she has less Ki, and doesn't seem very hasty at recovering it; I've never seen her use her Yokai Realm to get her Ki back, so stunlocking her is easy. Hope this all helped :)
