"Gauntlets made by layering scale—like curved plates. They feature sharpened fingertips and black-lacquered iron, hemmed with a golden colour. This Tosei—gusoku armour was worn by Otani Yoshitsugu, the famous ally of Ishida Mitsunari and senior vassal of the Toyotomi clan. Yoshitsugu was given the role of the Deputy Minister of Justice, earning him the title Deputy Otani. At the Battle of Shizugatake and during the attack on Kishu, Yoshitsugu aided in Hideyoshi's attempts to unite Kotethe country, gaining him his lord's confidence and earning him a place on the battlefield at Kyushu, Odawara, Oshu, and other locations."
